On line wedding forums

November 2011

Something I touched on in a previous article is the fact that most people only get married once and for this reason, you will generally know very little about most, if not all of the suppliers you will use for your wedding. (Everything you buy or hire, from your dress to your chair covers to your venue will be a one off).

This is why so much business within the wedding industry is generated by recommendations and word of mouth.

You need to know when spending so much money that you're making the right decision using that supplier.

Colour swatches

October 2012

24/01/2012

We send out sash swatches for free upon request so our customers can see their true colours. This is especially useful when trying to exactly colour match sashes to other items such as bridesmaids' dresses, grooms' ties, flowers etc.

Satin and taffeta are both heavy bold materials. Satin and taffeta swatches show a true reflection of colours.

However, organza is such a light material that the swatches sometimes do not give a true reflection of a whole sash when tied around a covered chair. (depending on colour and light).

Beware of the terms and conditions when booking your wedding venue and read the small print.

Here's one to look out for!!

Today we had a bride cancel her chair cover hire with us as her venue informed her they only allow one decoration company in and she has to use them. The other company are charging her 40% more than us and they can't give her the exact colour sashes she wants.

After reading her contract she has with the venue, she found a clause in the small print detailing this. She was however not directed to this clause by the venue at the time she signed the agreement!

Beware of the pastel colour scheme!

December 2011

Light blue, yellow, lilac, peach, light green, baby pink.

If you're planning on having any of these colour schemes at your wedding or event (and more importantly as your sash colours) then you might want to read this article.

Lycra chair covers vs Linen chair covers

November 2011

The main question I get asked by our customers week in week out is "Should I choose the Lycra or linen chair covers?" And the answer is simple-it depends on the chairs at your venue.

Most brides have a clear idea in their heads of how they want their wedding function room to look. This is because they've taken in snippets of things they've seen over the years on TV programmes, at other weddings, at wedding fayres etc.

UK Wedding venues

The first, foremost and by far the most important thing to do when planning a wedding is to find the perfect venue.

Most people only get married once and for this reason, you will generally know very little about most, if not all of the suppliers you will use for your wedding. (Everything you buy or hire, from your dress to your chair covers to your venue will be a one off).

UK Wedding Suppliers Deals and Promotions

We've created a Facebook page to be used by UK based wedding suppliers as a forum to promote any deals or promotions they might be running.

We advise that brides and grooms keep their eyes peeled as and when they are notified of new posts going up in the group so as not to miss out on any bargains.

Due to marry in the next 18 months? This page could prove to be your saving grace.

Recently married? If you have any bits left over you're looking to sell why not try uploading them here?
